Swoosh to Boost and Back to Swoosh
All of people usually saw various posts of just Adidas. The meaning about this is not that I am anti Adidas or favor any brand. This all about what matters to me and what I like. When I first got into the sneaker game, aka… “Sneaker Head.” All I wore was Nike. From Jordan 1, Jordan 11, Roshe, Air Max, and Flyknit Frees. Let’s not forget about Racers! I did not ever wish to wear anything else. What sells me on Nike is the quality. From shoes to clothes. The quality and how the products last is what I love about the brand. I have never purchased any running gear or clothing that has showed wear after time or was not on point in the sweat game. (Except that Lulu Lemon;))
Overtime my love or Nike was starting to get bland because of a wave, I decided to ride, and this is the story behind it....
The first time I saw my first Yeezy, I was stunned. I love how rare and futuristic the shoe looked. I loved knowing that only the lucky ones were rocking them. I soon became obsessed with it. I loved knowing and wanted to be that one person with the shoes you either got lucky or dropped major bread to stunt. I began doing research on them more and more. Ultra Boost became a thing and at first I was not about them. I felt that they made people’s feet look super wide and big and just were bulky shoes.
Many things changed. I ended up researching more and more a good price to be able to have a Yeezy. I went from spending hours trying to legit check certain pairs and finding a good deal. I finally did all of my homework and was able to get a pair of Moonrocks. I sold many of my Nikes I did not care for and finally pulled the trigger on them.
To this day, the Adidas 350 Boost Moonrock will be my day 1 favorite Yeezy. Not because of how expense and rare they are. Because I worked hard to put money aside for them. I did my research, and I was patient to find a good deal.
The title of this blog relates and shoes that people do whatever it takes to obtain hype. Sometimes we get a thrill and a sense of cockiness when we know we have something people wish they had or would die to have in their collection. Which is kind of crazy, because sometimes we see shoes that were sitting on a shelf and would not take any mind to them because they were not on Kicksonfire, Hypebeast, or Sneaker News. For example, I doubt anyone would have ever bought the Powerphases if Kanye never wore them. Personally, I love the shoe reminds me of old school gym days, and yes I do like how Kanye wore them, but I also liked Kanye before he wore Yeezys.
I never regret my decisions but, I will say with Adidas and Ultra Boost I regret being a victim of the hype. There is a term in the sneaker game , action a verb, and its “going to fast.” Also known as “buying everything you see.” Falling into this trend can limit yourself on finding great deals on shoes rather than paying over retail and not getting what you actual like. I am seeing so many users on social media that really just are making me sick with how pathetic they are with living and breathing for individuals who are anti brands. Why just solely be about one brand. It is kind of crazy if you think about it. So many people hype up all this technology in a shoe. Let me ask you.. Do you even use it? Do you even run? Like you hype this stuff but do you even live by it. No!
Overall, the reason behind this, is because I felt the need to express some thing on how I feel. In the outcome Nike will always be a quality shoe. I recently purchased 2 Ultra Boost for running. If anyone knows me they know how much I run, ALOT. I thought the Boost were great, but then, after logging many miles on them, I learned that they were killing my feet. The sole was causing my foot to burn and after I was done a run my feet felt on fire and not good. Previously I ran in Nike Pegasus 32. 33, or Lunarglide 7 . I would beat these shoes to the ground. I would have them for over a year and still have a “feeling good feet run.”
I love Nike. I love how simple it is to buy something from their website. How they have a SNKRS app allowing you to purchase and be notified for a shoe. Nike will always remain the brand that wants to get sneakers on your feet. Last year I let go a true grail to my collection. That was the Flyjknit Racer Multi Color. I remember the first time I laid eyes on the shoe. I loved it. I loved how simple and slim it looked. I loved how no one had them, and I love the design of the shoe. I began looking into the specs of the shoe, the technology, and why the racer is the goat of fly running shoes.
I tried for the re release for the pair and did struck out. I did my research, I checked all sites available to find them, I constantly stayed tuned for re stocks. I was unsuccessful in this, but I learned to be patient. Months later I sold the shoe. I came across someone re selling them. I contacted the seller and negotiated a good price. I was able to get them for a small amount over retail. I wanted to buy a collab of some sort, which is nonsense because I sold that shoe and hated it.
Today, I was lucky to be given a Flyknit Racer Multi Color. This shoe is so beautiful and reminds me so much on the research I learned to do that has led me to be successful and educated in sneakers. I could not be any happier to have this back in my collection.

The outcome, Nike has started the game for me, they light the fire, I ventured away, but I am learning the light. It is not solely about one brand, its about the passion and the love in what you like. The thrill you get for waiting for a shoe, not getting it, being patient, and landing a W.
Do not get caught up in the hype, be your own creativity.
Brookeydoo Out.
