Survey Says.. Elephants for 2017

Back in 2000 a California surf brand, as many of you know, Stussy, partnered with with Nike to create two limited versions of the Air Huarache. This partnership was only the beginning of something incredible that started the ideas of creating more collaborations for Nike. Soon after, a Japanese retailer, Atmos joined up with Nike in 2002 to create a unwieldy version of the Air Max 1. Atmos put their spin on the shoe by adding an eye catching print, "Safari." In 2003 Atmos worked with Nike again, in working on another game changing shoe for the Air Max. This time they decided to add a "Viotech" Verizon with a mixture of purple and brown theme.

Now lets get to the good part of the story. In 2007 Nike and Atmos partnered up to create a shoe that changed the game of Air Max. The Air Max 1 "Elephant." These shoe was highly favored and sought after. In 2016, Nike created a poll for consumers to vote on which Nike Air Max 1 they wanted to rerelease. Survey says... Elephant!! This shoe was released on March 18th for $150. The shoe instantly sold out everywhere. The resell on this pair is only going up. With an ionic silhouette, not to mention a huge piece of Air Max history, it will only rise in resale price.
Unlike a traditional mesh based Air Max 1. This shoe is made up of a high quality leather. The leather on the toe box of the shoe is very soft, giving it a tumbled leather look. It kind of reminds me of a Jordan 1... The top part of the shoe has a black suede, with black laces. Now, we cannot forget about that elephant print though! The elephant print is spread throughout the shoe and really compliments the colors of jade in the Swoosh and also on the "Nike Air,"on the back of the shoe.
I am so happy to have this shoe a part of my collection with it being an impressive piece of Air Max History. Not to mention this is my first Air Max. This shoe is completely gorgeous. Me personally, the elephant print had me at hello. I love the swoosh how it compliments the elephant print in a Jade leather. The fit of the shoe is true to size. I would also say you can go a half size down. Air Maxes tend to give a little more room, since the shoe is not narrow.

Overall, this shoe is beautiful. I am very happy I was able to add it to my collection. I did have to pay resale for the pair, but I could not pass up the price I was able to get. As I said before, now is the time.. If you see a good price on these, grab them! Anything under $350 is a steal, it is only going to go up..
What I really love about this collaboration and rerelease, is that Nike asked what we wanted, and gave it to us. They took a vote, listened, and produced! One thing I really love about Nike is how they Retro shoes. Sometimes we may miss out on a shoe, not really know about it, or simply unsure how we feel. With Retros and rereleases gives us a second chance to get a pair of shoes we really like..The whole point is to be able to reproduce dope shoes so we can put our footprint in this world with a fire hot sneaker.
